Cedar Grove Baptist Church ("Cedar Grove," "we," "us," or "our") operates
the cedargroveleeds.org website and the Cedar Grove Baptist Church mobile
app (together, the "Services"). This policy explains what information we
collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect information you choose to give us through the Services:
- Connect Card: name, email, phone number, birthdate, spouse's name, home address, names and grades/ages of children in your home, spiritual journey selections, how you heard about us, and any notes or prayer requests you include.
- Prayer Requests: your name, optional email or phone number, your request, and whether you'd like a reply or to be added to the church prayer list.
- Contact Form: name, email, phone number, subject, and message.
- "I'm New" Form: name, email, phone number, and how you heard about us.
- Giving: online and recurring gifts are processed entirely by Planning Center Giving. We do not collect or store your payment card or bank details.
- Church Center Account: if you log in to your Planning Center / Church Center account through the app, that login happens entirely in your device's browser — we never see or store your password.
- Push Notifications: if you enable notifications in the mobile app, we store a device identifier (via OneSignal), your platform (iOS/Android), and app version so we can deliver notifications to your device.
- Automatically Collected Information: our hosting provider (Cloudflare) logs standard technical data such as IP address and request timestamps for security and reliability purposes.
Children's Information
The Connect Card lets a parent or guardian tell us about their children (name and
grade/age) for the purposes of children's ministry check-in and communication. We
collect this information from the parent or guardian submitting the form, not directly
from children. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children
under 13 through the Services. If you believe a child has provided us information
directly, contact us using the information below and we will delete it.
How We Use Information
- To respond to prayer requests, connect cards, and messages you send us.
- To maintain church membership and household records in Planning Center, our church management system.
- To send you ministry-related email (for example, a welcome email after a Connect Card) and, if you opt in, mobile push notifications.
- To operate, secure, and improve the website and app.
Who We Share Information With
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising. We share it only as needed to run these Services:
- Planning Center Online — our church management, giving, and Church Center login platform. Submissions you make are added to your Planning Center record so our staff can follow up. See Planning Center's Privacy Policy.
- Cloudflare — hosts our website, API, and database.
- Resend — delivers transactional emails (for example, form confirmations) on our behalf.
- OneSignal — delivers push notifications to the mobile app. See OneSignal's Privacy Policy.
- YouTube — sermon videos are hosted on and link out to YouTube (Google). Watching a sermon on YouTube is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
- Church staff and volunteers who need the information to carry out pastoral care, ministry follow-up, or administrative duties.
- When required to comply with the law, or to protect the safety of our congregation or staff.
Data Retention
Form submissions and the records created from them in Planning Center are kept as
part of our normal church recordkeeping so our staff can maintain an ongoing
relationship with you and your family. You can ask us to update or delete your
information at any time using the contact information below.
Your Choices
- Push notifications: turn these off anytime in your device's notification settings for the app.
- Email: reply to any email from us and ask to be removed from a specific list.
- Access, correction, or deletion: contact us and we'll update or remove your information from our systems, subject to records we're required to keep.
Security
Information you submit travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access to
church records is limited to authorized staff and volunteers who need it for
ministry purposes.
Children's Ministry Notice
Cedar Grove is a Baptist church that welcomes children of all ages into our services and
ministries. Any information about a minor is provided to us by that child's parent or
guardian, and is used solely for children's and family ministry purposes.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Effective" date at the top of this
page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Services after a change
means you accept the updated policy.
